In the era of the digital economy, platforms such as Shopee and Tokopedia have become the primary infrastructure for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to access broader markets. However, the relationship between MSMEs and digital platforms is marked by significant inequality. This study explores the dynamics of power embedded within these interactions through field research conducted in Yogyakarta, Bandung, and Pontianak. The findings reveal that MSMEs occupy a subordinate position due to the dominance of opaque algorithms, repressive rating systems, unequal distribution of economic value, and limited access to data. Dependence on algorithmic visibility and pressure from evaluative systems has created a new form of digital control non-coercive yet highly effective. Although MSMEs attempt to adapt, their responses tend to be individualistic and fail to form collective strength. This research argues that platformization is not merely a process of economic digitalization, but a political-economic project that reproduces structural inequality through technological infrastructure and a misleading narrative of empowerment. Therefore, public policy intervention is urgently needed to safeguard the digital sovereignty of MSMEs through algorithm regulation, data transparency, fair value redistribution, and the strengthening of small business solidarity.
