Abstrak

This study aims to determine the effect of self-esteem on perceptions of workplace bullying among employees at BPSDM North Sumatra Province. The hypothesis put forward in this study is the effect of self-esteem on workplace bullying among employees at BPSDM North Sumatra Province. In this study the sampling technique used was the total sampling method, so that the results of the research carried out could represent all employees working at BPSDM North Sumatra Province, namely as many as 107 employees. The method in this research is to use a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression research design. The independent variable (X) is self-esteem and the dependent variable (Y) is workplace bullying. The self-esteem scale was compiled based on the form put forward by Coopersmith in 1967 and the workplace bullying aspect was compiled based on the form put forward by Einarsen, Hoel & Notelaers in 2009. Based on the results of the study, it showed that the coefficient of determination (R Square) = 0.719 (71.9 %) this means that the proposed hypothesis can be accepted.
