Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan metode drill dalam meningkatkan keterampilan bermain ansambel pianika dengan lagu model Bolelebo pada siswa kelas VIII G SMPK St. Yoseph Naikoten. Latar belakang penelitian didasarkan pada temuan awal bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam membaca notasi, menjaga tempo, ritmis, serta koordinasi antarpemain dalam permainan ansambel. Metode drill dipilih karena sifatnya yang menekankan latihan berulang sehingga efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan teknis bermusik. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Instrumen penelitian berupa alat musik pianika dan lembar observasi untuk menilai perkembangan siswa pada aspek notasi, tempo, ritmis, dan kerja sama tim. Prosedur penelitian meliputi identifikasi masalah, perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, refleksi, dan siklus perbaikan berulang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode drill mampu meningkatkan keterampilan dasar siswa dalam memainkan ansambel pianika, khususnya dalam ketepatan membaca notasi, stabilitas tempo, koordinasi ritmis, serta kekompakan antarkelompok suara. Penggunaan lagu daerah Bolelebo juga terbukti mendukung peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa melalui penguatan nilai budaya lokal. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa metode drill merupakan strategi pembelajaran yang efektif, sistematis, dan relevan secara kultural dalam pembelajaran ansambel pianika di tingkat SMP.

This study aims to analyze the application of the drill method in improving the skills of playing the pianica ensemble with the Bolelebo model song in students of class VIII G SMPK St. Yoseph Naikoten. The background of this study is based on preliminary findings that students have difficulties in reading notation, maintaining tempo, rhythm, and coordination between players in ensemble playing. The drill method was chosen because of its emphasis on repetitive practice, which is effective in improving technical musical skills. This study used a classroom action research (CAR) design with a descriptive qualitative approach. The research instruments were pianica musical instruments and observation sheets to assess student progress in the areas of notation, tempo, rhythm, and teamwork. The research procedure included problem identification, planning, implementation of actions, observation, reflection, and a cycle of repeated improvements. The results showed that the application of the drill method was able to improve students' basic skills in playing the pianica ensemble, particularly in the accuracy of reading notation, tempo stability, rhythmic coordination, and cohesiveness between voice groups. The use of the Bolelebo regional song was also proven to support an increase in student learning motivation through the reinforcement of local cultural values. This study concluded that the drill method is an effective, systematic, and culturally relevant learning strategy in pianica ensemble learning at the junior high school level.
