PELESTARIAN KEARIFAN LOKAL MELALUI RUMAH ADAT WOLOKARO DAN SITUS GADING GAJAH: PENGALAMAN OBSERVASI LAPANGAN MAHASISWA PROFESI KEGURUAN DI KELURAHAN ROWORENA BARAT, KABUPATEN ENDE

Abstrak

Kunjungan lapangan ke Rumah Adat Wolokaro dan Situs Gading Gajah di Dusun Wolokaro, Kelurahan Roworena Barat, pada 28 Oktober 2025, merupakan bagian mata kuliah Profesi Keguruan bagi mahasiswa Sastra Inggris Universitas Flores. Observasi mendalam terhadap material, struktur, fungsi, dan ornamen rumah adat serta          material, struktur, fungsi, dan ornamen rumah adat serta situs pusaka mengungkap nilai filosofis, historis, dan sosial yang mencerminkan kearifan lokal masyarakat Ende. Hasil diskusi menunjukkan potensi integrasi elemen budaya ini ke dalam pembelajaran kontekstual untuk pendidikan karakter, dengan rekomendasi pelestarian melalui wisata edukasi dan museum artefak. Kegiatan ini memperkuat kompetensi pedagogik calon guru dalam menghargai keberagaman budaya Nusa Tenggara .

A visit to the Wolokaro Traditional House and the Elephant Tusk Site in Wolokaro Hamlet, West Roworena Village, on October 28, 2025, was part of a Teaching Profession course for English Literature students at the University of Flores. In-depth observations of the materials, structure, function, and ornamentation of the traditional house, as well as the cultural heritage site, revealed philosophical, historical, and social values ​​that reflect the local wisdom of the Ende people. The discussion revealed the potential for integrating these cultural elements into contextual learning for character education, with recommendations for preservation through educational tours and an artifact museum. This activity strengthened the pedagogical competence of prospective teachers in appreciating the cultural diversity of Nusa Tenggara.
