SOSIALISASI SEDUHAN KAYU SECANG (Caesalpinia sappan L.) SEBAGAI PENURUN KADAR ASAM URAT DI DESA MERSAM SEBAGAI BENTUK PEDULI KESEHATAN

Desa Mersam merupakan sebuah desa yang terletak di Kecamatan Mersam, Kabupaten Batang Hari, Provinsi Jambi dengan total penduduk sekitar 2.500 jiwa dengan mata pencaharian umumnya sebagai petani, pedagang, dan nelayan. Berdasarkan kegiatan cek kesehatan yang telah dilakukan pada tanggal 17 Januari 2025 di wilayah kerja RT 03 Desa Mersam, Kecamatan Mersam didapatkan persentase penderita asam urat 76,19%, hipertensi 46,17%%, kolesterol 41,67%, dan diabetes mellitus 0%. Dengan tingginya pengidap asam urat ini, edukasi terkait penyakit tersebut sangat diperlukan untuk meningkatkan kepedulian dan kesiapan masyarakat dalam menghadapi penyakit tersebut. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, peneliti kemudian melakukan penelitian menggunakan metode pre-test post-test untuk melihat elevasi tingkat pengetahuan yang dinyatakan dengan nilai kuesioner. Hasil penelitian tersebut menyatakan bahwa ada pengaruh pemberian edukasi penyakit asam urat terhadap tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat, akan tetapi pengaruh ini tidak terlalu signifikan sehingga perlu untuk dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut dengan sumber daya yang matang dan memadai.
Mersam Village is a village located in Mersam District, Batang Hari Regency, Jambi Province with a total population of around 2,500 people with livelihoods generally as farmers, traders, and fishermen. Based on health check activities that have been carried out on January 17, 2025 in the work area of RT 03 Mersam Village, Mersam District, the percentage of people with gout is 76.19%, hypertension 46.17%%, cholesterol 41.67%, and diabetes mellitus 0%. With this high number of gout sufferers, education related to the disease is needed to increase community awareness and readiness in dealing with the disease. Based on this, the researcher then conducted a study using the pre-test post-test method to see the elevation of knowledge levels expressed by questionnaire scores. The results of the study stated that there was an effect of providing gout education on the level of community knowledge, but this effect was not very significant, so further research needs to be done with mature and adequate resources.
