Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penerapan metode drill dalam pembelajaran pianika serta menilai efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan keterampilan siswa kelas X DKV-3 di SMKN 4 Kupang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode observasional melalui pengamatan langsung, catatan lapangan, lembar observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif melalui proses reduksi, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode drill diterapkan secara sistematis pada teknik dasar bermain pianika, meliputi teknik tiupan, pembacaan notasi, penjarian, dan permainan lagu. Latihan berulang terbukti mampu meningkatkan kemampuan siswa pada sebagian besar indikator, terutama teknik tiupan dan pembacaan notasi. Namun, capaian terendah terdapat pada indikator permainan lagu karena membutuhkan integrasi berbagai teknik secara bersamaan. Secara keseluruhan, metode drill dinilai efektif dalam meningkatkan ketelitian, konsistensi, serta penguasaan keterampilan dasar siswa dalam bermain pianika.
This study aims to describe the application of the drill method in pianica learning and to assess its effectiveness in improving the skills of 10th grade DKV-3 students at SMKN 4 Kupang. This research used a qualitative approach with observational methods through direct observation, field notes, observation sheets, and documentation. The data were analyzed descriptively through processes of reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the drill method was systematically applied to basic pianica-playing techniques, including blowing techniques, notation reading, fingering, and song performance. Repetitive practice effectively improved students’ abilities in most indicators, particularly blowing techniques and notation reading. However, the lowest achievement was found in the song performance indicator due to the need to integrate various techniques simultaneously. Overall, the drill method was considered effective in strengthening students’ accuracy, consistency, and mastery of basic skills in playing the pianica.
