PENCEGAHAN STUNTING MELALUI PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT DI WILAYAH DESA TANJUNG PUTRA KECAMATAN MERSAM

ABSTRAK
Stunting merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan di Indonesia. Saat ini, berdasarkan data UNICEF dan WHO angka prevelensi stunting Indonesia menempati urutan tertinggi ke-27 dari 154 negara yang memiliki data stunting, menjadikan Indonesia berada di urutan ke-5 diantara negara negara di Asia. Stunting artinya ada gangguan pertumbuhan fisik dan pertumbuhan otak pada anak. Prevalensi stunting di Provinsi Jambi sebesar 18%, sedangkan berdasarkan survey awal prevalensi stunting di RT 03 Desa Tanjung Putra sebesar 14%. Tujuan dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk mencegah stunting pada balita di Desa Tanjung Putra kedepannya, terutama di RT 03. Metode pendekatan yang dilakukan yaitu Edukasi mengenai stunting, gizi seimbang, cara mengolah bahan alam menjadi hidangan pencegah stunting seperti labu siam diolah menjadi puding dan daun kelor menjadi cookies kepada ibu-ibu RT 03 Desa Tanjung Puta . Selain itu metode pendekatan yang dilakukan yaitu cek tumbuh kembang anak dan edukasi perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat di SD 137/I Desa Tanjung Putra. Hasil dari pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada Masyarakat didapatkan peningkatan pengetahuan ibu-ibu RT 03 Desa Tanjung Putra tentang stunting menjadi 87% dari 63%, 14% anak mengalami stunting, peningkatan pengetahuan anak-anak SD 137/I Tanjung Putra terkait perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat, peningkatan pengetahuan ibu-ibu RT 03 Tanjung Putra tentang pendidikan menu gizi seimbang sebesar 82% dari 60%, dan peningkatan pengetahuan ibu-ibu RT 03 terkait cara mengolah cookies daun kelor sebagai upaya pencegahan stunting.
ABSTRACT
Stunting remains a significat health issue in Indonesia. Presently, based on data from UNICEF and WHO, Indonesia ranks 27th out of 154 countries with available stunting data, positioning it fifth among asian nations. Stunting entails both physical growth impairment and hindered brain development in children. In the province of Jambi, the prevalence of stunting stands at 18%. However, initial surveys indicate a prevalence of 14% in RT 03, Tanjung Putra Village. The objective of this community engagement initiative is to prevent stunting among toddlers in Tanjung Putra Village, particularly within RT 03. The approach employed involves educating mothers in RT 03, Tanjung Putra Village, about stunting, balanced nutrition, and methods of utilizing natural ingredients to create stunting-preventive dishes such as turning chayote squash into pudding and moringa leaves into cookies. Additionally, child growth monitoring and education on clean and healthy living behaviors are conducnteed at SD 137/I, Tanjung Putra Village. The result of the community engagement program indicate notable improvements in various areas. There has been an increase in knowledge among mothers in RT 03, Tanjung Putra Village, regarding stunting, rising from 63% to 87%. Stunting prevalence among children decreased from 14% to an undisclosed figure. Moreover, there has been an enhancement in knowledge among children at SD 137/I, Tanjung Putra Village, regarding clean and healthy living behaviors. Additionally, knowledge among mtohers in RT 03, Tanjung Putra Village, concerning balanced nutritional menus increased from 60% to 82%, while their understanding of the preparation of moringa leaf cookies for stunting prevention also improved.
